The pane was issued on April 14, 1982, in Washington, DC, and in state capitals. Printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing using photogravure, the set showcased original watercolor artwork by father-and-son wildlife artists Arthur and Alan Singer, with Arthur creating the birds and Alan creating the flowers.
