Not only are these stamps beautiful, but they are also valid for current use for postage. The history behind these stamps adds to their charm. They were issued by the USPS on June 6, 1977 and each butterfly represents a different geographic region of the United States. The stamps come as a se-tenant block, meaning they are still attached at their shared perforations, with each stamp featuring a unique design (see photos).
